All Chairs Rotate 360. This is me sitting in seat behind driver and looking sidways toward side doors. I ended up with three holes one right behind the drivers seat, one right behind the passenger seat and one farther back on the passenger side.

I found the best pails are a runnings pail for the upper pail and a menards pail for the lower. They have small differences in them that make them better for each location. They also dont stick together at all because of small size differences.

I cut the bottom out of the menards pail and the runnings pail with a tin snips

I found the best lid at walmart again design differences. I cut the center out of that and left the reinforcment ridges to keep it from flexing too much. I used a torch and melted all edges to keep them smooth so they wont snag the line.

I put the menards pail under the van from outside. They wont slide through the catch cover

Then I slide the runnings pail through the catch cover and it engages the menards pail. I may need to use some weather stripping to seal a little better but it is fairly tight

Ya it had a sweet radar detector fron 1993 when i got it too. Also I put a disconnect on the start battery and run jumper cables into one of the front smoker windows and hook it to two deep cycle batteries to run radio and lights. I will also run the propane line through the same window to run the Big buddy heater

The van has accent lights above each large window in the back that put off a nice glow like youre at a disco party. Also as seen in the pics it has the aircraft style lights above each seat. I have led's on order for the disco lights but cant seem to find an led bulb for the center map/aircraft lights. I hope I can so I dont have to use a lantern.

Your set... stereo, tv, nice chairs, bed, plenty of cup holders and storage, lights... enough room for 2-3.

All you need is to figure out the DNR # issue for sure and make sure your always legal on the DWI thing if you partake in the occasional adult beverage.

The things that come to mind for me are open bottle ... keys in the ignition, etc. Take the keys out... put the empties in a garbage container of some sort, have all open bottles, cases, etc locked up somewhere out of reach before you hit the road... DONT DRIVE BLITZED and you should be set...

Sweet deal... keep up the pics.

I got my shelter liscence yesterday. I am going to put the 9 digit number on a large peice of plastic and hang it from the spare tire on the back when I am fishing and remove for driving. I have given quite a bit of thought to the open bottle thing. My plan is to be responsible. If I drink I will spend the night in the van. But yes I am sure there will be times when I am technicly breaking the law with keys in possesion and drinking in vehicle I dont know... Hopfully the law is responsible too.

Yeah, I mean, it might not be a bad idea to put the keys somewhere outside of the vehicle, or in the wayyy back in a box or container or something when you're not driving it. The law technically states the keys need to be in the ignition, but I can see some judge/prosecutor challenging that to say "within reach." I would certainly not risk it. Maybe get a little place to stick the key under the car or something. Cops aren't lenient with this thing (for good reason), and neither are prosecutors or judges.

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
