fish house sled repair

just 1 more cast

Recommended Posts

I just fixed a hole in a Clam tub that I got from a buddy, about the size of a quarter right on the "bottom" of a rib. I got some 1/2" hard plastic (from the guy who sells hyfax kits) in about 3"x6". I routed out a channel in it to fit over/around the rib, and then slapped silicone on the piece and around the holes in plastic, and bolted it (counter sunk holes and big washers on inside) to the tub. Water tight and all covered. I also added the hyfax kit (from same guy) so it won't happen again.

I have a small Otter sled for the kids to pull behind the snowmobile which they used for years. As the kids got bigger they were real rough on the sled and broke it in two pieces a couple of years ago. We have a plastic welder at work, welded the two halves back together and it's taken the same amount of abuse and is still holding together. Find someone who welds plastic and see if they can repair it.

I had two holes in the old Voyager after six years of use. To fix I put on runners from Clam and found a scrap piece of plastic from a supply place in Fgo. A little garage time and it has runners and a whole new botton.
