FL-8 SE YELLOW SCREEN

Question

I have a fl8 se while out fishing over the weekend everything was going great then my vexilar went on the fritz the whole screen would turn yellow, with a small tap on the unit it would return to normal it would jump back and forth to yellow sceen back to normal. If any one has any ideas of what it might be any input would be great.

Your may need to bring it in and get new brushes put in? frown

Make sure the battery is fully charged, double check all power connections, and see if it clears up..low power may produce such an effect.

Secondly, it could be a dirty brush set. It may be in need of a cleaning internally.

And lastly, the brushes could be worn and need of replacement.

Try the diagnostics I recommended in that order. Start simple, be sure the power if fully 12 V at the battery and unit.

Instructions for cleaning the brushes and the inside of the case is available on the Vexilar web site in the tips section. If they look bad and/or just do not clean up and operate properly after the cleaning procedure, than send it in for a brush kit or order the kit from Vexilar and do it yourself.
