Which lake should I choose?

Coming to Mn the 23rd of this month and staying till the 30th. Can't decide on whether to go to Mille Lac or Leech. Will be coming back in Feb. for the eelpout festival and staying on Leech. Then back in May for the opener on Leech. Have not been on Mille Lac for about 15 years and that was only a few hours as a major storm moved in and we had to get off the lake. So, I don't know the lake very well at all except what I've read on here. I haven't a clue when you guys talk about mud flats, sandbars, bays, humps, etc. So how about a little advice. Should I go with what I know, or try something new? Thanks in advance.

If you're hitting Leech in Feb why not mix it up a bit and hit Mille Lacs this go round?

I don't know how the fishing on Mille Lacs has been, but my dad was just up on Leech this last weekend and they did VERY well for walleyes. I know thats where I'll be over Christmas.....

I'd hit Leech. Mille Lacs can be pretty hit or miss depending on how the fish are acting at the time. And I'm guessing there won't be too much "fishing" going on when you're up there for Pout Festival. If you only get a chance for a few trips each year concentrate on one lake or one area and get to know it and you will get more and more successful there with the more trips you take.
