TDH
I paid $100 for my 7 tine amish spear last year.
buckhunter21
I bought an amish made one for about $75 a couple years ago. My buddy bought one last year for around $175 i think so theres a pretty wide price range. Just depends on how much your willing to spend on one. Gordie
most amish spears that are mild steel are around $75.00-$100.00when you get into the stainless steel amish spears thats when the price goes way uo $160.00-$185.00there are a lot of look alikes also that will do the job for far less.I bought one this spring at a garage sale that was made by Milton Belts he was a spear maker back in the 40's I got it for 20 bucks and it throws nicer than anything Ive ever thrown. I have to thank merk for finding out about the spear I had no clue other than it was hand forged.if you do some home work you will still find a couple of spearmakers but be willing to pay the price or shop the net, talk to a welder to see what you can come up with. Eastman2003
I think I will do that before I throw down 200 bucks for a spear.
bassNspear
I paid $100 for my 7 tine amish spear last year. this is a range that i was thinking. The laser spears are in the same ball park as well!
Capt'nMorgan
who is using the lazer cut spears and how do you like them? I would have to believe that the barbs are stronger on those
merkman
I had some laser cut spear heads made 2 years ago and welded the handles to them. I really like them for straight down spearing. They have much better penetration than anything else I have tried. The heavier spear knocks the fish out right away.Of course I am comparing these to other "cheap" spears.I don't have and have never used a Dillo Style spear.I am not sure the two are even in the same ballpark. From what I hear a Dillo style is far better. bassNspear
who is using the lazer cut spears and how do you like them? I would have to believe that the barbs are stronger on those i use one now, and love it. Dont have to worry about the bars braking, or sharping them back up. It seems to be alot strong too, and the tins have no give at all!
Fish Toys
It makes a difference on the material and gauge of the material on the laser cut spears.
merkman
Ya, on mine I hardened the tips but left the tines unhardened. If you do hit something you want the tines to bend and not break. If the tines are hardened then there is a chance of them being brittle and breaking.
bassNspear
It makes a difference on the material and gauge of the material on the laser cut spears. Correct. Make sure if your going to buy one, you spend a little extra, and get the good stuff!

spearingboy
Laska,I know you're a ways away from Long Prairie but that's where I picked up my Amsih spear last year. I went directly to the fellow's house and picked it up there and paid $95 for it. That's cheaper then anywhere I've seen them in stores. I can get you some contact info for him if you'd like. I'm very happy with it.
