Saw my first house this morning

Saw a guy out on a pretty large west suburb lake this morning almost in the middle... Yikes! Not for me Be safe out there guys....

Ya some guys really got the itch to get out there. I was in Thorne Bros checking out the new store and a couple guys were in there talking about how they were about to head out on 2.5 in of ice.

Someone commented that it wasn't enough ice and they laughed and told him they knew how to swim. IDK. I kept my mouth shut but kinda thought they might be winning a Darwin award that night. Didn't hear anything on the news so I guess it panned out for them. Not worth it IMO.

I saw 2 portables out yesterday. West of the cities, 200 yards from shore.

I've got the itch real bad. Might go out Wednesday if we don't get a lot of snow on the thin ice.

Seen a guy on a lake by zimmerman out about 300 yards. Went out about 50 yards and checked the ice and it was about 2 1/2 in. Picked up the rocks that it seams everyone uses to check the thickness with. I threw an 8 incher in the air towards the shore and it went threw. The ice was spidering as I walked closer to the hole. I'm waiting a couple more days.

We got a good 4 inches here, only been out once, but seemed safe enough to walk on for me.

saw a bunch of guys out by elysian, about 100-200 yards away from open water and one of they guys was like theres 2-3 inches of ice in some spots..... in some spots is not good enough for me to go out
