Pop up blind as a fish shelter???

fish4cats

Question

anyone use a popup blind made for deer hunting or turkey hunting as a fish shelter? If so, what type of results? can they withstand having a heater inside? Cold affects on fabric etc...I bought one and i know I would have to anchor it down, just wondering if it would withstand the use?? Thanks

I'm sure it would work great if you could get the windows to close tight enough to keep it from breathing. I doubt the heater would have a negative impact. In fact, I've thought about running my buddy heater in it while hunting - maybe this weekend! smile The black inside of a blind would be nice. One other downside is that blinds typically don't have a lot of extra fabric on the bottom to keep the wind out. At least I don't think my Double Bull blind does...

The Double Bull blind could work. I have used a heater in mine while late season deer hunting with no side effects to speak of.

As mentoned above, you would more than likely need to bank all 4 sides of the blind to keep the blowing snow and wind out.

It may not heat very well as the shooting ports would lose alot of heat.
