semi perminent

Has anyone ever made a semi-perm Basically build it so that the floor is one piece then all the walls separate so that it could be bolted and unbolted for storage or possibly easier moving it as I don't have a truck. Probably along the lines of a 6x8 or 8x8

let me know your thoughts

Jesse

Growing up back in the day thats all me and my dad had, and pulled it to the lake on a boat trialer and then carried the walls out one at a time and put it together out on the ice. It was nice just for the fact that you could bring it out early ice. And if we got to much snow and couldn't get to it by car or truck to get it off the ice, you got it off same way you got it on by carring it.

Not sure what the thread is titled, but there was a post last year about someone who made an 8 x 8 just like you describe. I believe it was green. I think he called it his "modular" ice house or something like that. It was very well built and the ideas he used were great.

You beat me to it. I remember seeing that same post. It is exactly what is described on this thread.

Yeah, I know a lot of people who have one. They get it out early, and fish in it all winter on the Central MN lakes. Basically it is a floor, with two end walls that are attached by hinges, so three pieces of wood (one with some skis on it (typically the front)). Then you get a piece of canvas and attach it between the two with some fiberglass poles for support.

Theyre great houses, wish I had a pic. But they fold up into nearly nothing for summer storage and are plenty warm if you point the wood walls in the right direction.

We just remodified ours to be a bit larger. Ours are more portable than you would be after as they are only 58" or so wide and 8' long so that the ends and floors fit in the truck as only 1 piece. But we have 3 of them so there is plenty of fishing space. We built our longer side walls as 1 piece and just slide them in our larger fishouse to transport them.
