lakevet
Have a friend with eye problems/ had multiple major eye surgeries. They have the special DNR permit that allows 1x scope during regular muzzy season due to medical reasons confirmed by an eye doctor. What are the legal non magnifying (1X) muzzy scope options out there that won't break the bank? All of us use open sights (even my 90 yr old uncle and my 78 yr old dad) so we are not familiar with the scopes. Thanks, lakevet
Larson15
I know that Thompson center makes a 1x that I heard is pretty good. I think its about $

harvey lee
I put a Cabelas Pine Ridge scope on mine this year for North dakota. Its tough to tell how good it is as its only a 1 power scope. It sure beats iron sights for those 80 plus yard shots. I can group my shots much better at 100 yards shooting at a pie plate. With iron sights, I can hardly see the pie plate.Overall, for the $70.00 the scope runs, the glass seems to be pretty good.I guess I am pretty happy with it.One could also check out the red dot scopes but the batteries can get spendy.I would have liked to have purchased a variable scope by the law does not allow.Overall grade on the Pine Ridge, a B+. Walleye Guy
I may be wrong but I thought you could put a non-magnifying scope on a muzzleloader without a special permit. Is this correct or do I have incorrect information?
fr0sty
That is incorrect. You have to have a permit, even for a 1x. I may be wrong but I thought you could put a non-magnifying scope on a muzzleloader without a special permit. Is this correct or do I have incorrect information? fishingforester
I may be wrong but I thought you could put a non-magnifying scope on a muzzleloader without a special permit. Is this correct or do I have incorrect information? You can do this (or magnified) if you use the muzzy during rifle season, but not during muzzy season.
