Spear identification

I picked this up at a garage sale a couple of months ago.

Any ideas on who made it or if it is just a run of the mill spear.

No Idea merk but that thing looks sweet and looks like it could due some damage

just the same diameter of the shaft with a hole in the end for the rope.

I think it was just made for spearing by a quality craftsman . I think it will work great. I've got two brainerd spears and you can tell by the end of the handle if it's a brainerd. Sometimes I've got three spears in my spear house. Only once have I used all three but several times I've used two. A person always needs another spear just incase one gets damaged.

The summer shoppin season is coming up.

I hear there is gonna be a heck of a garage sale just to the west of me once the catfish season opens up!!!

Thanks Merkman, for the picture of the handle. It looks like whoever made it, new what he was doing. It's always nice to see other spears, to get ideas on how to make my next spear. You never have enough spears, but when you miss a fish, you will second guess yourself, and change spears. Thanks to all for showing their tools of the trade. Spike 76
