Clam Corp Denali IV

Has anybody bought one of these portables?

If so how does the overall quality seem to be?

What sled are they using with this house (X-sled or the

sled they use for the voyager?) Any info would be helpful.

I will be using it for my 11 yr old son and myself and the occasional neighbor guy, mainly looking for some extra room

If i were you I'd save a couple hundred bucks and get the Clam Command Post. My buddy has one and its great.

When we go panfishing we often times set it up early, drill a bunch of holes, and hole hop. When our sons get cold or need a chanagevee of pace, we go to the command post and fire up and camp stove and make hot cocoa. (We've even talked about a pancake breakfast smile _

The command poat has an open floor, which is kind of cool actually. A Big Buddy Heater gets it nice and toasty.

Its also fun to just sit and fish in it as a family too, as there is more than enough room.

Its easy to set up, and packs tight, so that you can have you auger, flasher, tackle etc in an otter sled.

Actually, the sled on the Denali II and Denali IV is a brand new sled for Clam this year. These models were developed as a perfect back-to-back set up for 2 people (really large fishing areas!) or a really nice "family of 4" shelter. For those who want or need the space, but don't want to carry extra chairs, etc. that you have to do with a pop-up, this model is perfect.

The reason that there are 4 small seats in the Denali IV vs. 2 large seats in the Denali II is that 4 large seats will not fit back to back in the Denali IV so they had to go with 4 smaller seats. In my opinion, the smaller seats are pretty comfortable, and with kids along they won't be sitting long anyway. If my butt gets a little sore I'll just stand up or go outside for a little walk. Not a big deal at all.

I got one from the GF for my bday/early xmas. Obviously I haven't used it yet, but overall it looks like it will be a great shelter for when she and I go out or when we want to have four people fish the same porty. As far as which to go with, I would do the Denali 2 all the way. It's fifty bucks less and I just throw my canoe seats on the platforms if we want four people to fish.

We'll see how it holds up to winds, as the thing looks like a sail.
