Spectacular photo Jay. I see these birds along the roadside and soon as I break the Yukon and hit the power button for the window the bird sneeks away! I gotta buy a prius HA! Anyway you got a great photo there!

Nice one, Jason, as always. Excellent separation in focus between the grouse and the background foliage. It would have been interesting to see the exif so we could gauge how much potential distance there was between bird and background.

Nice pictures. A little different subject but was out on a four wheeler ride today with the kids and seen two ruffed grouse first ones I seen in ten years it was great to see them. Had to look twice to make sure of what i was seeing. Very cool looking bird.
