rattlem'up
Has anyone been hunting this area? I might be checking out the area around the river in jordan. Anyone know if this area is pretty crowded with people? Or any other areas by chance. I normally hunt buck only zone and havn't seen a buck worth taking. So just looking to get a doe in the freezer. I'm not familiar with the 601 area at all so any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Gordie
Alot of the land is private land and there is some no hunting areas in that Jordan area I've known alot of people to take some monster bucks out of that area also. Good luckhere is a Question also if you have an unused buck tag can you use it(on a buck) or is it does only, in 601 zone I didnt see anything on that in the regs but maybe I havent read them good enough. John478
If you’re talking about the river bottoms between Caver and Jordon my son has been down there a number of times but I haven’t been there yet this year. On opening day my sons buddy shot a small buck and my son pasted on a fork horn. The next day his buddy’s dad shot a doe. He’s been back there 4 or 5 times since and hasn’t seen any thing else. There’s deer down there but they get a lot of pressure. If you go on the weekend yes there will probably be at least 10-20 other people down there, but its huge you could but a 150 in there. If you have a cart bring one it could be a long drag if you get one.Yes you can take a buck if you have a tag.

Hoping the next weekend brings some luck.
BigGrassBass
If you hunt the carver/jordan public land area be ready for lots of hunters. That area has been pounded since opening day. There are still some deer in there but your not going to get them in any easy to access places. Also remember you are hunting public land near a high concentration of people. Law of averages says that could be interesting!
John478
Yep there will probably be a lot of people in there this weekend, being the A season is closed every where but zone 1 and it’s the only place left for a lot of people to hunt. On the flip side that may be to your benefit. Since with all the pressure those deer have seen I don’t thing they move at all during the day unless someone kicks them up.
