Arctic
Well, I'm thinking that many/most bucks are hooking up with does and not moving much. Sat for 8 hours in the stand today. Saw no deer. Maybe heard 15 shots all day. Thinking about the five does I let walk on Friday... What have you guy/gals been seeing?
BeezeHound
I hunted all 9 days and saw 8 bucks and 1 doe. Saw five of the deer on opener and none of the bucks were really showing much sign of being in rut except the big guy who was trailing the doe and I unfortunately could not get a shot at him. Usually our woods is full of scrapes this time of year and as of this morning there was only one which was made sometime Tuesday night. Very weird. pulleye16
I saw a ton of deer only one of the 7 days I've been hunting, and the bucks were chasing the does mad. Since then its been pretty bad in our party. If the land your hunting permitts you, try doing a good ol' fashion deer drive. The deer are out there but seem to be a little stuborn so far. Good Luck and hope you get some meat in the freezer!
Arctic
Yeah, the rut seems a little off this year in my part of the Arrowhead. Was a very warm September, followed by a cold October. Now it's warm again. I've seen a small buck or two and plenty of does in the past week , but no big boys. Still got a week to go, and then muzzleloader. No worries. Great to be in the woods. T.S128
well i fianlly saw my first deer this rifle season this morning. don't know what it was in real thick stuff and only could see its back. I was seein lots of deer bowhunting the week before gun season opened but it seems like it just shut down. I just want it to cool off a bit. it might help a little, plus it'll make it feel more like deer season.good luck to everyone thats still goin
harvey lee
In North Dakota when the south winds and warm temps turned to the northwest Saturday morning, the bucks finally started to run hard chasing does. Seems late to me but its going well now.

HeviShot
Sat for 5 hours this morning and saw nothing. On the way back to the truck I jumped 4 does in a little bush in the middle of the feild. The deer just seem to be even more nocturnal then usual. Monkster
We are thinking the same thing in the Sandstone area also about them moving nocturnally! Lots of sign made overnight found the next morning. I heard from the group up this last weekend that they had seena a few more than last weekend, so maybe this weekend will be the trick!
