power for gps?

I have a snowmobile with electric start and I am wondering if I can wire in a cigerette style plug to the battery to power my gps?

sure i would put a fuse in line incase it shorts and also use a type of plug that has a waterproof cover. no different than you atv or car

I wire a marine 12 V accessory receiver up on all my Vexilar's now as standard equipment, just for that reason...and to also charge up cell phones in the stix.

Kinda hard to see in my avatar, but there is one on the top right corner of the Vexilar in the picture. I found that to be a good location as even with the soft pack on it can easily be accessed by the side zipper.
