Slowhand
Who is your most hated rival? I think for us Viking fans its pretty easy to figure out its the Pack, but historically speaking for you guys its been the Bears. Is that still so for some of you and/or fans you know, or is it the Purple? If you answered Vikes, when did it change change for you? Can you recall a specific time, or did it gradually happen. Steve Foss
I don't have a most hated rival because I don't hate any sports team. Uh, well, I do have a certain amount of contempt for the Braves and the Cowboys. Anyone who is arrogant enough to call themselves "America's Team" deserves whatever boos they get. I want my Packers to beat EVERYONE! Don't matter if they're wearing purple or black or blue (old style) or puce or taupe or teal or aubergine or whatever femmy newcomer colors are all the rage. CJH
I was born in WI, but grew up in MN. We always considered the Bears the number 1 rival and then the Vikes to a lesser degree. I just enjoy football and we had Vikes season tickets for several years. I was able to go to the 98 NFC Championship and it was a great experience (not because they lost). I definitely see alot more venom on the MN side than the WI side. (probably because ours is divided between the two )
Scott K
I have cabin in NW Wisconsin, I have asked pretty much this same question, and the answers I got, were, it depends on where in the state you are, and the people you encounter. The bigger cities in Wisconsin are to the east, therefore they are closer to Chicago, therefore the fans are closer together there, and heckle each other, and create the rivalry. In the west part of Wisconsin, they see more Vikings fans, therefore they see the Vikings as there largest rival. The Vikings only close state to bicker with is Wisconsin, so we see the Packers as are largest rival. At least it made sense to me.

Jim Uran
I think it's skewed this reason for one obvious reason.

That all makes sense to me, too, if one can make any real sense out of sports fandom.
