MinnesotaMongo
Do you lock your outdoor kennels when you are not at home? Do you worry about someone letting your dog out/stealing it? I have a lot of time, money and effort involved in this dawg. Just wondered what everybody else does. Thanks.
cutter08
Yeah i never leave my dog kennel un locked. A $20 lock is well worth the time and cash i have put into my dog. But then again lets see some one try and get my dog out of a kennel when I'm not around.

Neighbor_guy
If they want your dog that bad, a lock is not going to stop them. It may deter your neighbor kid from letting him out to play, but someone who is there for the dog, not going to be to woried about a lock, they are problably prepared for it. CJH
We always padlocked our kennel growing up. (my lab stays inside nowadays) However it was more to keep kids out than burglars. It wouldn't take much to break in to a kennel. That being said, if it acts as a deterrent (i.e more trouble than its worth), then its well worth the few bucks it costs. pureinsanity
I do not worry about someone taking my dog. he won't allow that. I would like to see someone try though a lock isn't a bad idea however.
jigging-matt
I have always had a lock on my kennel. I realize that it won't stop someone determined to get him, but hopefully slows them down enough that the neighbors dog that barks at everything, will alert someone. Makes me feel better to. BLACKJACK
We lock our dog kennels when we leave, a few dogs in the county disapeared a couple years back, then we started locking. Yes a determined thief could get in but it stops the impulse theft. If you look around you can buy multiple padlocks with the same key. What kind of lowlife would steal someone's pet???! They should be shot on sight.
MinnesotaMongo
Thanks guys - I now have it locked. BTW - I really like my Scott Kennel - it's very nice. You know - this is my first, truly trained hunting dog. There really is a lot of time, effort and love involved in the process.
