Another Oil Question

I bought a 1983 Honda 185s three wheeler a year ago and now it's time to change the oil. My question is, can I use a synthetic oil such as an automotive Mobil One? It has the automatic clutch (no clutch, just let up on the gas to manually shift). Wondering if synthetic would work.

I want to go synthetic so it pulls over easier in cold weather.

I would recommend Amsoil 4 stroke ATV oil. This allows for the clutchless tranny to still operate correctly. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think you need to pay attention to that.

There are specific synthetic oils to be used in ATVs. Automotive Synthetics will cause problems in your Honda. Your Honda still has a clutch. Using the wrong Synthetic oil will cause it to slip.

Never had any issues with mine. Can’t kill those 185's if you tried, and on more than one occasion I tried. Granted this was when synthetics first came out, but never the less I didn't have any issues.

Thanks for the responses. That was my concern, how it would effect the auto. clutch. So where can I find Amsoil 4-stroke ATV oil in the north metro area?

I think most napa's, Fleet F etc. carry it.

Anyting WITHOUT the energy conserving label on the back will be fine.
