DIshwasher not draining

When mine wouldn't drain it was because there was a clog in the check valve. The check valve can be found by taking off the bottom panel of the dishwasher. Its a plastic piece that sits between the hose and the motor.

If you unclamp the hose and then unscrew the check valve you should be able to clear the obstruction if there in fact is something there.

First though I would try to get all the water out of the dishwasher first or you'll likely end up with a big mess as soon as you remove the check valve. Drain it by scooping the water out with a cup, a turkey baster works great to get the last little bit of water out.

Since it was off and on at first this may not be the problem but it seems to be the most common problem for a dishwasher not draining and its a pretty easy place to start.

A google search of the term "check valve" and Dishwasher will likely give you some pictures of what to look for.

If its not that then it probably gets more complicated.
