kc0myy
when will more birds come down? I have been scouting for 2 days and I have not seen much for ducks. I know the locals have lefted and the northerns have not come down yet. but I want to shoot some ducks its just sad around here right now. we need some strong cold fronts to come by and push more birds down. how have the rest of you guys been doing? chub
There are birds moving through constantly. Saw a few flocks this evening that had not been in the area. By the looks of them, they weren't about to stay in the area either.
Quackaddict9
I was out yesterday morning and shot 12 for 2 guys, mixed bag of teal, mallard, redhead, ringneck, bluebill, and gadwall. Didn't hunt this morning but have a field that has mallards for tomorrow morning. I too have noticed that there are less ducks around than last 2 weeks but there is enough to shoot a couple. Lots of driving around and scouting has paid off.
Set n Hooks
Shot a limit of one can, one spoonbill, drake mallard, hen woody, one bluebill, and a bluewinger with brokenline.
buckx37x
it all depends on where your located, are area we have virtually no ducks havent seen any for the last week.
Farley
Some of this corn needs to be taken out before we can expect any birds to stick around.
BrdHunter01
STRONG cold fronts will be key. Thos ducks will sit tight in S Canada until the lakes freeze. The ducks will sit there (where they don't get shot at) until their roosting areas freeze and force them to move. Ive noticed the last couple years that the corn coming down doesn't mean ducsk stick around. MN doesn't have much to offer them (in most parts of the state) so they really don't have much reason to stick around

Farley
My roomate and a couple buddies just came back from Canada Friday, said the birds were so thick up there it was like they were being swarmed by mosquitos. They'll be down soon enough, and I will be waiting for em in a picked cornfield.

They are around....my advice is to find some private water if you aren't seeing any birds.

kobear
There's some ducks around. Both in isolated private waters and some actually using public lands and waters. There's been some Mallards, Ringbills, and Bluebills around here.

Drove past the access on Saturday and 4 trucks. Tells you that its slow.

brushhog80
Everyone waits for the "big push" while the smart people shoot limits. Its all on how hard you want to work at it. If your lazy you wont shoot much.

I am scouting every chance I get because I work 6 days a week until 7:30pm and I go to school (st.cloud tech for machine tool). I am just still not seeing much for birds yet.
