I am in the process of looking to book a honeymoon in Jan-Feb. Me and the wife are looking to go to somewhere in the Caribbean that is all inclusive. I would also like to tie is some sport fishing with this as well. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Gorgeous little island off of Cancun. Can't go wrong IMO. We fished out of Jax's. greaty fishing, resonably priced too. Captain Michael leans more toward serious sport fishing than luxury. There are expensive fancy boats on the island as well. We stayed at the Avalon. Beautiful!

I will agree with Isla, got married there, go back every year.IF you go in Feb to march you will catch sails and a lot of them! I fish with Lilly M and Keen M They are "local" boats the captain is american who is married to a local they own a hotel there as well.

Lots of nice places to stay, would go for a smaller place not avalon in my opinion.

If you want all inclusive, you can't beat sandals. I honeymooned in St Lucia at the Regency. It was the greatest time ever! You can't even tip the employees. There are around 7 restaurants on the resort and you can take a shuttle and spend a day at one of the 2 other resorts on the island. They have great food, awesome beaches and entertanment. You can't even do everthing in a week. Rates have gotten really good since the econonmy went in the toilet. I did spend a 1/2 day fishing with hackshaw's charters and it ran about $500. If you meet some other cool couples you could invite them with you, and split the costs. The boats handled up to 8 people. All the drinks were also included on the charter. Our honeymoon was in august, which is worst time of the year. Late fall is the best fishing season. We saw a bunch of whales, flying fish, and only had one dorado on.

Punta Cana - Dominican Republic. I have been all over Mexico, and after visiting a few islands out in the sea.....I will never go back to Mexico.

We stayed at the Melia, Barvaro Beach. All-inclusive, and they have fishing charters right down the beach.

Absolutely awesome!

I would not recommend this. We split a boat with a few other couples--it just decreases your chance of catching your own fish. The way it worked for us is that we all had 15 minute shifts in the chair, and we just kept rotating through. The more people on the boat, the less time you had to catch a fish. If you can swing it, I would hire a private boat.

My wife and I are headed to Puerto Rico next Wednesday. I'm not sure about all-inclusive packages (that's the way to go, in my opinion, but we're going for a wedding and it wasn't an option), but come next Thursday, I will be chasing tarpon in the warm weather. I'll give an review when we get back.

Another Vote for Punta Cana... We stayed at the BAvarro Princess resort and is was great. Due to the wedding we were attending we didn't get to fish but people we talked to that went out and had a blast. (No captain's names sorry) We went in May...
