Wax free toilet seal?

Is it foam? I've not seen a wax free bowl wax before (I know, doesn't sound right, does it?), except for wall hunt toilets. As long as it's somewhat pliable and is thick enough to create a seal between the toilet and the flange, it should be alright. I hesitate to say that since I haven't seen what you're working with. Personally, I'd go get the bowl wax and set it with that.

What do you mean by wax free, I have worked with other plumbers that would use plumbers putty to seal the toilet but after a couple years I was going to all their job and reseting the toilets because the putty would dry out and start to leak. Their is a little hardware store on 96 and lexington if it was mine I would go and get a bowl wax and do it the right way.

I think that should work...I just googled "Wax Free toilet seal" and found a picture right away.

It is rubber and has a sticky wax-like substance around the top ring that connects to the bottom of the toilet. Then it fits down into the hole. The weight of the toilet and the sticky substance will (hopefully) keep it in place on the toilet.

I have no problems using the wax...

The new rubber ones do work. I'm not sure how well because they haven't been available that long. Guys are using them when in-floor heat tubing is placed to close to the closet flange. THe high heat from the tubing melts the traditional wax seal and makes the toilet leak.
