New Yamahoppy???

I heard that Yamaha is coming out with some new type of high performance outboard next year that will outrun the E Tech and Pro XS by a considerable margin. Anyone know anything about this rumor?

I saw nothing on their HSOforum but I know that very few boats similarily equiped can stay with Yamaha's new 300 HP VMax.

I was at a fishing tourney and they had their demo team offering rides on Skeeters ,Gamblers and Blazers and the Gamblers and Blazers were running GPS 87-88 mph with the Skeeters around the 84 MPH mark. And this was on 21 footers.

From what I was told, Yamaha is focusing most of there development work on the 4 stroke line. A Yamaha rep told me that they will still have the Vmax but are trying to refine the 4 stroke to compete with other dfi's in all categories. I dont know how true this is but I dont like the idea. I know that next year Yamaha will not be offering the carbed Vmax any longer in the US.

Better performance, better fuel effieciency, better holeshot, everything. We're talking about a 4 stroke that should put merc's and BRP's 2-strokes to shame.

Keep an eye out for news on a 4-stroke Yamaha 'SHO' outboard model sometime before January. Goodbye HPDI!
