PP, you got a couple of days of rest. I gotta hit the bait store for new ones. Nobody on our side of the lake has been in the Crappies this year either. Also, either no one is catching Walleyes or they are being extremely tight-lipped about it. I haven't tried for them this year, but I might this weekend. I have a couple of spots where the ol' jig and minnow combo or a slip bobber have worked in the past. Plus, you might even tag a Smallie. Nice thing about Wisconsin, three lines: one hanging over the side, one slip bobber, and one jig and minnow or soft plastics.

I fished the contest on Minnie last Saturday. A lot of fish were caught. Only saw 2 Wallys weighed in. My partner and I brought in 4 Gills ( minimum is 8 inches) 2 Crappies ( minimum is 10 inches) and 4 Bass ( minimum is 10 inches). There were lots of Gills, Bass, and Northerns brought in. Catch and release is optional, but all were released. We fished Nebagamon in the afternoon and the fishing was even better there. Every team had fish. My Team had 6 Bass, 4 Crappies, 2 Gills and 7 Northerns. We fished 4 hours on Minnie and 4 hours on Nebagamon. We fish every Tuesday night from 6-9 p.m. Different Lake every night. Nobody knows what Lake we are fishing until 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The third Saturday in August is the Championship. It is 8 hours. We are a fun fishing League, and almost every fish is released alive back to the Lake.

Saturday was un-freaking-believable!!! Out from 6:00-11:00 am and from 2:00-5:00pm. Caught 1 SMB and 5 LMB on spooks. Caught two more SMB and a bunch of LMB on a Strike King Red-Eye, including my first 2-fer. Of course by the time I get the two fish into the boat, fish the camera out of my pocket, opened up the camera app, etc., one of them flopped off the hook and all over the deck, (combined length of both fish was around 17 inches). The frog bite was on fire! I went down to a Spro Jr. and the hook-up ratio went up to around 50%. I landed 7-8 fish on somewhere between 12-15 blow-ups. And of course, 3 NP. One of those was near the 24 inch mark. Honestly, probably boated nearly 25 fish total, with about half were keepers (over 14". I always thought the minimum was 15"). Sunday was another story. One SMB on a spook and one NP on the frog. Only had 3-4 blow ups on the frog.

Raider, even a blind fisherman finds a acorn now and then. All that cursing you heard this weekend was me fixing the hull of my boat. I popped about 6 rivets loose a few weeks ago and finally got around to fixing them. Unfortunately, fixing the hull also meant destroying a portion of the deck. Now that I'm back on line, those fish haven't got a prayer. You talk about blowups when pitching for bass. I'm so hungry for a meal that there could be blowups involving duPont spinners. grin

So-So weekend. Saturday fished from 6-10am. 2 nice SMB about 16.5-17 inches and one dink. Two 15 inch LMB and of course two NP. Swimjigs and Rattle Raps mostly. Today was a little slower with only two LMB (one 15-incher), 1 SMB and one nicer NP (18-20 inches).

Hey, I don't fish for 'em! Went out Saturday from 4:30-8:00 pm. 4 LMB (one about 15, rest were dinks) and one Hammerhandle. Two LMB on Spooks and the rest on Frogs. Out Sunday from 6:30am-1:00pm. More LMB (about 12 with 5-6 being over 14), another 2 Hammerhandles, and........WAIT FOR IT.........An 18 inch Walleye!! Could not believe it. Fishing a flat with a lipless crank and the boat in about 7 feet of water casting parallel with the boat. It was right at 6:30am. Vast majority of bass on the frog. They seemed to be just inside the edge of the lilly pads (a few were way back there). Nothing in the bulrushes (probably because they were starting to die off) and nothing in the grass beds (grass is still pretty green).

No SMB frown

Raider......How did you catch a walleye on that lake>? Nice Job though...

I was on Nebaggie early Saturday morning, and Sunday morning for a few hrs. Pretty slow, compared to last weekend. Did get some smaller Smallies, a couple Largies, 1 small pike, and 3 walleyes (biggest 16"), and then the present blue gillz (but couldnt get the bigger ones).

Was out last Saturday, probably for the last time on Minnie. Heading north this weekend and then considering putting it up as I stuck it out last year and it was a bear to winterize. Water temp was about 15 degrees cooler than the week before. Caught a few LMB with nothing spectacular. A few frog blow ups but couldn't quite pop them. Mostly on Spooks. NP's moving deeper into the weeds now. A lot of NP "jump over the lure and completely miss hits". Good luck everybody and I will report on any hardwater action I encounter this winter.

Welp,

Wasted another afternoon watching my beloved Vikings lose. Right after the game, I had to get out of the house, so I walked to the bow stand for the 1st time this year. Did not see anything, but it was nice to finally get out there...This weeks agenda calls for trimmin up shooting lanes, and getting some fire wood cut. Gonna be busy, hope I can get out fishing at least a couple more times, but it is not looking good. Hunting season has arrived!

Anyone seeing any deer in your stands? Hunted all weekend and only seen 1 doe Friday night. She ended up winding me and moving on. I wouldnt of shot her anyway.. Bartender at the Patzu Bar said that no one is seeing any deer, but he saw a timberwolf cross the softball field a while ago. Maybe the wolves are eating good? and no deer left??

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
