Backyard Bluebird

I've been watching this guy for the past couple of weeks. It landed on a sheperds hook in my yard, the sun was good, I was able to sneak behind a tree, get the bird in focus, my memory card was full, deleted a couple of shots to make room, switch to JPEG, refocus, and I got a nice pix.

I've been fortunate to have bluebirds use my backyard for feeding in the 15 years I've lived in my home. Each year I look forward to seeing them. When the neighborhood was more open they would nest here. This was the closest I've been able to get with camera in hand. (XSi, 100-300,)

You are lucky to have the little guys in your yard & you've turned that into a very nice image - which was skill, not luck!

I've only rarely seen bluebirds, but we actually had one in our yard recently. I snapped a few pictures and they went into a file of images where the birds are so far away you have to hunt for them - and usually only I know what I've captured!
