gr8icefishinmind
Not sure what it means, but the parking lot that is right next to the highway is still blocked off which i would take as that section being closed still!!4wheelingmama........whats goin on out there??? is the whole thing open yet??? I'd like to get out there soon as well but don't wanna make the hike out there if sections are still closed!
4wheelingmama
It's still closed! One of the last times we were out there, someone had taken down one of the baracades and we didn't relize it was still closed. There are trees down all over, Only about 2 trails are even close to passable. That was at the end of July. The last I heard the water level was better but There are still a bunch of trees down. I've been really dissapointed that they can't get things cleaned up on some of the trails to make them usable. If I find anything else out I will post it. 4wheelingmama
Here is the email I recived this morning about opening up the rest of the Appleton OHV park:"If everything goes well today and signing of deep water areas, we hope to have the rest of the park open Thursday at the latest. Check swiftcounty.com and go to the parks link and then Appleton Park link and it will be on there as soon as it is opened.Thank you"
gr8icefishinmind
i was thinking about going this weekend but not real wild about it being so hot again so may wait til the next weekend! Sounds like it is really muddy out there, which is a plus!!! I also heard from a friend that was there last weekend that the DNR was there looking for any and every reason possible to hand out tickets, gave him a ticket for his snorkels being too tall on his kawi!! gr8icefishinmind
Just a fix it ticket i guess! But still, he made his snorkels on his own and put alot of hours into them so it kinda sucks!!!
gr8icefishinmind
So.....i know some state parks have limits on the decibels of sound out of exhaust but is there a general state law about decibels??
Dozer
96db at half throttle measured 20" from exhaust exit. Had mine tested to get into Gilbert 2 years ago, 95.6db!
Dave S
96db at half throttle measured 20" from exhaust exit. Had mine tested to get into Gilbert 2 years ago, 95.6db! General statewide limit is 99db unless a specific riding area has other restrictions in place. From page 15 of the regs:Mufflers• Mufflers must have a federally approved spark arrestor.• Overall noise emission from ATVs and ORVs may not exceed 99decibels at a distance of 20 inches.• OHMs that are not competition cycles, and were manufactured in orafter 1986, may not exceed noise emissions of 96 decibels at a distance of20 inches.• Mufflers may not be altered to increase motor noise, or have a cutout, bypass, or similar device except for organized events. Probably bring the portable grill with for dinner ride for the afternoon then head over to the bar & grill for supper. I think there is 4 of us going, possibly 6.
