bucketmouth64
I am in the market for 235/75/15 for my Explorer. When I was doing some researh I came across a message that '98 Ford Explorer requires a special tire. I also was told this at FF. They said Ford requires an all terrain tire. Highway tire not recommended. Is this the special tire for this vehicle? Also, is speed rating for the tire important to look at when purchasing? Most I have seen are S or T rating. I currently have destinations and I am considering a change to a different tire. Some that I have considered are duelers, long trails, continentals, general grabbers. I know about duelers, but would anyone have opinions on the others? I am looking for a quiet tire on the highway, good traction mud/snow. CJH
I had a 98 Explorer and used the Goodyear Wranglers and never had a problem. Seemed like a good tire.
fishing tech
If you are planning on putting more then 40-50000 miles on it I would go with Michelins. LTX M&S or LTX AT if they still make them. I had a set with 80,000 on them with plenty of tread left.
