You really need to set a budget and tell us what you want to use it for before advice can really be given. Are you looking to spend 200? 500? 800? Do you need it to be a gps sonar combo, or just a sonar? Color or b/w? There are way too many options out there for a legitimate guess to be made without setting some criteria.

love my Lowrance 522c. Got the ice pack this year and use it year around. IMO it's a great unit.

Yah, just keep rubbing it in.... For whatever reason they don't make 'em anymore and are sold out. I guess I missed that memo mad I Spent an entire day driving around and making phone calls to try to find one, No Go cry

Guess I will keep looking.

did you try the guy in Anoka on Hwy 10.......I called him about a month or 2 ago and he was one of the only people to have the ice set-up for the lowrance....otherwise I know there was a guy on some (males name)list selling one out of the brooklyn park area for $110 about a month or 2 ago.......

Not sure what you're looking for or what you want to spend, but there's a great deal going on right now on the x510c. It used to be a $500 unit before it went on close-out. The "horror stories" you're referring too had to do with the software in the combo units, not applicable to the 510c.

If you give us some more details on what you're looking for or what you want to spend I can come up with some other suggestions for you too.
