riverrat56
All mine are set up with trebles and I tip them with a minnow head. The only time I have had any sucess with the single hook is when using a very small Pimple under a bobber with a live minnow or when using a dropped rig with a live minnow. Rope
I always run a single hook.Seems to have a better hooked ratio.I am using the smallest size.

SKIPPERS KID
Treble All the time for me but there may be a time for a single hook. All my pimples have treble hooks on but I change them when they get bad.
Jesse Drummer
i catch big fish all the time so i need the strength and durability of a stiff treble hook!
Agronomist_at_IA
Better luck with treble or single hook.Just wondering what works better Use the treble hook that came on the pimple, and then the single hook that came with the pimple goes in the spare hook box. hydro
I usually change out the hooks on jigging spoons. The trebles that come on the lures are often fine wire and bend easily, causing misshapen hooks after a while. Lately, I have used 2X strong round bend trebles which hold up well. I have also found that swapping from the treble to an open eye siwash single hook has increased my hookset effeciency and the fish seldom get off at the hole. The long point of the siwash hook is brutally effective if sharpened correctly. The small sizes are hard to find but could be searched out. Crappies and perch size jigs match up to #4 or #6.
