Is there anyway I can check out my LX-3tc to make sure it is working properly without sending it in to Marcum? It seems like I was having to turn up the gain higher than normal last year to see my jig.

The symptoms you are describing really sound like you have a bad transducer but the only way to test it is to try another transducer and see if it fix's the problem or send just the transducer back. You should give there customer service a call and see what they say. Marcum Customer Service 1-866-777-0733

Just call Marcum and they will take care of you. No matter what it will come back quick and come back fixed.

Marcum has top notch customer service.

yep, you have a bad ducer. I had the same problem, and marcum sent me a new one at no charge.

I had the same unit - same problem. Definitely get it fixed before you Ice fishing kicks in. If is very frustration problem.
