Dog likes to scratch a lot

7 posts in this topic

I have a yellow lab that is two and he seems to scratch his skin a lot -- Dry skin?

I don;t think it is fleas -- he was just in for a bath not long ago.

Any thoughts?

He could be having some reaction to his food. One of my labs had this a few years ago. We switched food and the scratching went away.

My pup was doing the samething, We gave him a bath with a pet shampoo with Aleo Vera in it, and it worked like a charm!

Our lab was scratching and chewing on her feet until they were raw for about a week after her bath. We switched to a vet recommended shampoo and it stopped right away.

Good ideas -- thanks

Called our vet and she said food allergy or maybe seasonal allergy too.

said to give him Benadryl

Could very well be allergies. Ask your vet about that as well.

Try a different shampoo and if that doesn't work try a different dog food. I had that happen with my female and I changed dof food and problem solved.
