Toba
I have a insulated garage with a furnace, but only heat it when I use it. The temp got down around below 15 during the last cold snap. Is there a tv other than an old tube that would stand up to the temps? There must be someone with a tv in their garage.

gizmoguy
I have a 32" visio lcd that I picked on the cheep from a friend of my kid that needed cash. Leave it in an uninsulated garage year round. Never a problem in any temp. I have a 19" lcd 12v tv/dvd I leave in my truck all week in the cold and it warms up on the way to the fishhouse on ML and it works just fine when I get there. BartmanMN
My brother has an LCD mounted in his screen porch for viewing from the hot tub. Going on year 2-3 without issues. Your garage would be warmer than his porch.
Eric Wettschreck
I have an tube TV in my garage that freezes all the time. Works great. I have another of the same style sitting on a shelf in the garage that you can have. All you have to do is come pick it up.
LindellProStaf
I just bought a 40" flat screen for my garage shop. I keep it heated with a woodburner. The temp one is the first question I asked. He said just let it warm the tv up to above freezing before use and it should be fine.
loosegoose
If you are purchasing a new one I would go with an LED.
Whoaru99
FWIW, a LED TV is the same basic technology as a LCD TV but with a different backlighting system.
dougger222
We turn the furnace off at the cabin and have had no issue with the 55in vizio. For the fish house use a 32in vizio and that also has shown no issues.
masoct3
I had an extra Samsung 32 inch and I made a wall shelf, attached to a amplified HDTV antenna. Summer, Winter, this sucker works. Although, I dont watch too much tv in the winter....
