Back in the game!!!!

Took me a while and 2 lakes to come up with a group of fish. Stumbled on a HUGE pod of fish 200+ sunning themselves is a giant bed of currly leaf about 4 feet deep. They were hanging in the pockets and the trails from were outboards had run through it. This was my biggest @ 34" with a 22" girth. Spawned out female. She is my best of the year so far. Gets the heart going

good stuff guys! the next two weeks are going to produce some absolute monster shoots, in terms of size and quantity of fish! setting the alarm early saturday morning...going to try to break the 50 fish mark, in waders. no boats for us!

I came across this guy while out after some carp today. I told my buddy before we went out that I want to shoot a nice gar and managed to do just that...

46" long, I couldn't get an accurate weight but he is about 10 pounds.

I think they are a real interesting species and would be somewhat unique on the wall. Does anyone recommend a taxidermist in South Central Minnesota or South Metro that is capable of mounting a gar? I am open to suggestions.

I amm gettin one mounted I caught last year. I brought it to wild life creations in lakefield. Awesome work reasonably priced good guy to.
