Hi, I am looking on line at a xsi with the following

tamron 28-80 f3.5/5.6

tamron 75-300 f/4-5.6

wide angle lens

telephoto lens

8 gb card

carry case

battery and cables

all new for 764.00

My question, is that a fair deal?

Are the tamaron lenses good?

Any other necessities to go along with the camera

From when I bought mine 2 weeks ago, I got the 18-55 IS lens with the camera and battery and cables and software for $750.

Seems like your getting the zoom lens thrown in for free.

bottomdweller, be careful. Usually when it seems too good to be true, it is. There's a Web site called resellerratings. If you're looking at buying this combo from an online business, check out that Web site to get a review of other folks' experiences with the business in question.

There are plenty of fly-by-nighters out there in Cyberland.

If it's a private sale, sounds good to me as long as the gear checks out when you get it.

I agree with Steve and will add that Tamron-like all other companies,makes different quality levels of lenses. The ones they are including are most likely the lowest level.

As Steve mentioned make sure you check out the reviews of the company you might be ordering from. There are really only 3 or 4 companies that I would consider dealing with on-line. Good luck with your decision.
