VZ Navigator

In a few days Verizon will officially take Unicel over. Being a Unicel customer, I never had any navigation (GPS) on my cell. Is it worth the extra $ per month? And how fast does it actually download the directions to the phone?

I say yes for sure. I use it all the time when I'm in unfamiliar areas. The other day I was downtown Minneapolis, pulled up Navigator and hit "Home", seconds later I have Voice turn by turn telling me the best way home.

I have Alltel and have turn by turn on my cell. I was in a place I knew the other day, but wanted to see how it worked for the first time, so I typed in my address. Worked great for 2 minutes, then it told me I had to pay for it. I was a little bummed, I gotta say.

VZ Nav is very good, when it first came out i didn't think it would be very good but it is. I used it a lot when i was with verizon. I use google maps now which is free and works just as good for me.

FYI, Verizon has released version 4.6

The big update with this release was voice recognition. So now, you just hold the send key and tell it where to take you. I just downloaded it but haven’t tried it yet.

If it works as stated, it will be a VERY nice feature.
