dougr1969
Anyone familiar with the Iron River in Bayfield County? Headed that way this coming weekend to chase some panfish. In particular I am looking for information on Long Lake. Feel free to contact me @ dougr 1969 @ ya hoo dot com. Thanks in advance for your help! Cooter
I've only fished the Pike Chain up there in summer, good panfish lakes. Don't quote me on this, but I believe Iron L used to be a sweet bluegill lake. Wish I had more info for ya, somebody further up nort' should have some pointers. longcaster
How are the ice conditions around Iron River?
Jim Hudson
LCMost lakes are still in great shape, for walking on... Stay away from lakes that have their only access points on the northside of the lake though. Most of these spots are very eroded from recent rains and warm days. So, really the only problem is getting onto the ice. Once on, ice depth is not an issue. Watch out for spider holes from rain water tunneling through.. So, like all late ice stuff.. Use common sense and partner up with a fishing buddy, while carrying all necessary safety gear. Good luck.
