Secret Word?

We should do something like they did in the Bass forum last year, a secret word big fish contest, monthly or weekly, doesnt really matter.

For those who dont know, it went like this...

The forum moderator would post a secret word at the beginning of the contest, if you get a big fish during the contest, your write on a pice of paper the secret word and take a pic of the fish on a ruler with the secret word displayed to prove it was caught during the contest.

It was a blast in the Bass forum and I think it would be fun to do something like that for panfish until opener! Usually the winner would receive a few little things just to make it fun, some jigs or lures or whatever anyone wanted to send the winner.

Lasts however long we want to make it, I believe it was a weekly contest for a few weeks last year. Great way to participate in fun contest with other FMers without having to plan and meet at get togethers.

Basically just for fun and bragging rights, but I know I could find something to send the winner and I am sure others will to, I beleive thats how it went with the Bass contests.

Heres a link to one of the Secret Word contests we had last year in the Bass forum, first valid entry is on page 3 I believe as an example...

The secret word was "MEA YEAH!" because it was MEA weekend and that had to be displayed in the pic for it to count in the contest, quite a few people just posted pics of Bass with no Secret Word and those did not count towards the contest, only ones like the bass on page 3 of the thread with the secret word displayed would count.

Allright, we'll kick it off this weekend for any that want to try. If things go well, we may carry this forward into April. I'll post the word tonight, good for fishing all day Saturday and Sunday. Crappies and Sunfish only, winner displays the largest fish by total length. Please refer to Page 12 of the 2008 Fishing Regulations or page 13 of the 2009 Fishing Regulations to measure total length; you must pinch the tip of the tail down on a measuring tape or board to get total length.

We'd like two pictures, one of you holding the fish with the secret word and another of the fish on the measuring tape or board with the secret word. We may or may not be able to swing some jigs for this contest; for now it is a for fun contest.

Sound good? It sounds like we have a lot of interest and thanks to FishinChad for proposing the idea.

I think most of us are honest enough in this fun contest that we dont have to worry about that! Sounds like a blast I cant wait!

I blew it when I got home Friday night and didn't have any internet at the in-laws.

We'll try again next week, and for my goof I'll be sure to award a couple jigs for anybody's trouble this week.

My bad.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
