Slip-bob
It is the peace and quiet for me. Getting a bite while jigging is comaparable to getting a winning scratch-off loto ticket. You know you are a winner but you don't know how much you have won until you scratch off the prize. You don't know how big the fish is until you set the hook. No better feeling then that! Down Deep
My favroite aspect of fishing is that you just never know what might happen when you throw the line in the water. It is never a sure thing. The prepration, the cast, the splash, the nudge, the hit, the hook up, the fight, the landing always produces a smile and a sense of satisfaction for me. Every year I seem to have several thousand dollars laying around that I don't know what to do with so I help the economy.

Weed Shark
Fishing is close to our basic instinct.Fishing feeds our senses. What is better than: the solid feel after a hook-set and heavy thumping on the other end, the taste of fresh fish, the golden flash of a big one coming to the surface or passing beneath your ice-hole, the slimy smell of fish filled waters in springtime, the sound of a fish breaking the surface? Fish environments also do it: the sun or mist against your face, the sound of rapids, sighting wildlife, watching sunrise and drinking hot strong coffee on a cold morning out on the lake…without a care in the world. Northlander
Tim Anderson I hear ya man. Im still a work in progress. I still really enjoy trying to break down a body of water and trying to get fish on it EVERY time I go out. I cant stand it when I cant get the fish to bite. Messes with my "Mojo" but not as bad as it used to. I can actually run a tourney now and breath while doing it. LOL.
frazwood
I thought that I'd add my two cents. I like just about every and any aspect of fishing. If I am alone, then I like the solitude. If I am with friends, then I like the company.I like the challenge. I like the days when the fish are seemingly jumping onto my hook.I like the scenery. I like listening to the birds. I like seeing small fish, large fish, and medium fish. I like seeing a trophy fish swim away after being released; I like fish in my frying pan.Mostly though, I think that I like that a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work.
