what is up with the bass bite this year?I have never caught so many large mouth in the winter, limits of 18 -20 in bass on green lake and every one says it is a smallmouth lake.I think that winter bass is one of the most tasty fish out of the lake.We have tried them many ways but find stuffed and baked the best.I don't know why you all throw them back? Please post any new ways to cook them.

He's more than likely telling the truth guys.....Thats the way 90% of fisherman are around this area.. Walleye's,thats all they care about. Every other species is garbage around here. I've seen guys slammin 20" smallies off there motors before. Cutting the gills on them, you name it. Its pretty sad........

Lets not get into an arguement about what type of fish to eat and not to eat the guy wanted a few answers about how to cool fish. I would put them in some butter and lemon juice and put them in the microwave. You will be suprised at the taste! one of the best ways and fast too, no waiting around for the food to warm up on the grill.

Nothin' better than diggin' a 5ft trench, fill it with coals, and slappin' two 48in Musky fillets in foil with a butter baste and lemon slices. MMMM, MMMM. I also do it with 40lb lake trout and 29in 'eyes, and 3lb crappies. Delicious.

Yeah, the 1st post has all the makin's of a Nyahh, Nyahh Boo, Boo taunt.

Probably the same kid that called you names that would give you the old ("Poor Word Usage") notice from his front porch and then run into his house, tell his over-protective Mom some lie so she would rub her "Little Snoogy-Woogy" with sun screen "all over". Yeah those kids would cook well in the pit too.

It might have been an attempt to stir the pot but the reality is that people do it. While it may be legal it's a surefire way to negate the quality of our fisheries. We should always keep that in mind and kindly encourage others at the access or anywhere to join the catch and release club. It would be nice to see the DNR manage a lot more lakes primarily for bass instead of stocking walleyes in lakes in which natural reproduction is unsuccessful. There's plenty of Muskie fillets to go around in the meantime.
