gas tank

My gas tank is cracked where you put the gas cap on, it's plastic. Is there any way of fixing it without getting a new one.

No not very likely,we had a '89 Indy Trail that had the same problem. We just called a snowmobile salvage yard,can't remember the name,and they shipped it to us. They're very easy to install,on that one it was anyways,not sure what you have for a sled.

maybe epoxy? im not sure if it will hold up to gas though might have to just read the bottle. dont even try RTV silicone i tried it on my dirt bike and the gas will eat right threw it in no time.

Know any body shops that weld plastic bumpers?

What type of sled is it. Arctic Cat had a recall on some sleds with that problem.

I had a 04 firecat f6, and that recall was for my sled and some others that year. I had no cracks, but had the tank replaced on that recall. which was great becuase my fuel gage quite working.

It's a polaris not sure what year it is, a friend has it.

Polaris and Arcic Cat both had recalls on the fuel tanks because they were breaking off at the filler neck. Call the dealer and give them the VIN off the sled. If the VIN falls into the recall you will get a new tank for free. Even if your VIN is not included in the recall, any decent dealer should be able to get a tank at no cost to you because it is a known problem.
