TurnUpTheFishing
What part? Ive only fished pool 2 a few times in april and really stuggled but if you put your time in you can really nail numbers and size on any stretch of the mississippi. paceman
A group of us goes to pool 4 the end of March every year. Lots of people and lots of fish. A really fun time.
Tim_Anderson
I fish and guide on the Mississippi in the Twin Cities Metro, mostly in March. Simply the hugest (girthiest) walleyes anywhere in Minnesota (from there south) IMO. I have fished the Rainy for many years. Mississippi eyes get way bigger...mostly having to do with girth.I just plain love fishing rivers. Not much I'd rather do in the spring than work the current with a jig.Combo trip turkey hunting and fishing after your turkey is dead is just about perfect.I once fished below Dresback down by Lacrosse/Lacrescent, and caught 16 species of fish in one day. It's another thing I like about the river. Incredible diversity. You never know what you're going to get. And, it's open year around! Defeats having to wait till ice-out. My scouts are out...won't be long now.
