Huskie
I posted this earlier but still need some help. My brake and ABS lights are on all of the time. I took it in to the local small town shop that just used a hand held diagnostic tool and he couldn't read anything nor turn them off. He noted on the bill, take to a dealer and only a dealer could do it correctly. 01, 165,000 miles not sure about the added expense. Does anyone have any ideas? Jeremy airjer W
There shouldn't be any reason why a good scan tool couldn't at least pull codes. Without Knowing the codes that are in the system there is not a whole lot that can be done other than speculate on what is wrong. If your local shop is not capable and the other alternative is the dealer than that would probably be your next step. Repairs based on speculation can easily exceed the cost of a repair based on diagnosed fact.

Huskie
I finally talked with the local shop. sounds like a speed sensor, but he couldn't find it, not familar with the dodges. Stopped and talked with the service people at a dealership, sounds like about $50 for the scan, $40 or so for the sensor, they said the older trucks just have 1, the newer have 3, and of course labor. Hopefully looking at $200-$300 to get it done, if that is what it is, I can live with that.
Jeremy airjer W
If its the rear ABS speed sensor it is in located on top of the pumpkin.
