CORRECT WAY TO LIFT WHEELHOUSE?????

DCL

Recommended Posts

Have may first wheelhouse. Only used IT 3-4 times. Have always cranked up the back first and then the front. Did that today and broke the front cable already. Is there a correct way to lift your house??? Front first or back first. Just wondering if I am doing something wrong. Thanks for any info.

I was told by the company when putting it down drop the tongue first and then the wheels, and when lifting it do the reverse...wheels then tongue. Never had any problems with it yet and I've had it for 4 years. There must have been something wrong with your cable or something was holding it down for it to break already.

I'm guessing you are talking about hooking up to and unhooking from your vehicle....

When dropping the shack: let the back down first- taking the weight off of the wheels. Then unhook at the hitch.

When loading your shack: Hook up to your hitch first. Then raise the wheels.

DO that and you won't have any problems.

Would you by chance have an Ice Castle. The same thing happened to mine, i dont know why but pretty easy to fix, just gotta get another cable, i always have an extra in mine know. That does sound like the right way tho.

Yea, it is an ice castle. It is 1 yr old. Was wondering if you should hook up the hitch first and crank up the front or crank up the back and then the front. We have been doing the back first and then the front and then hooking to the truck last. Other times seemed easy, but this time a was hard and the cable broke?????? It is an easy fix, just wondering if there was a better way to take the weight off the front so it doesn't happen again.
