Snowmobile hitch?

AJ

Recommended Posts

I have a 1998 Polaris Indy and I need to get a hitch on it. All I am towing is my otter portable with the tow bar. What is the right hitch (best fit, ease of install, ease of use) for me? Where should I procure it? These pretty easy to install? THanks.

Don't get the universal silver looking hitch that looks like a "U" shape with two sets of holes - it won't fit around the bumper. I put one on al old 88 indy I have, and just drilled holes through the bumper to get it to fit, but on 02 I don't want to drill. This was the about $15 model you find on the main snomo parts site, or that they have at dealerships as "universal"... I got one for my yamaha that is made for it and it works much better.

AJ-

Do a search in the BWCA-Ely forum for hitch installation. I have the same sled as you and you should get some good info there. Or you could search my posts for the thread. Pictures on there also.

good luck.
