art321
I've got an older model Shimano bantam mag 10SG baitcaster that is wearing out. Anyone know of a good place to take it for repair in the far NW Hennepin Co. area? Thanks.
Black_Bay
Try Trails End Bass Pro off HWY 65 in Fridley.

Ralph Wiggum
If I wasn't comfortable doing it myself, I would just ship it to Shimano. They'll give it the once over.
tom fellegy
there is a guy in the brainard/nisswa area or trails end. take your pick. just not a big demand for reel repair that there needs to be one attached to every super america gas station. as far as i know, the guy at trails end is the guy that used to be in anoka. fisherman123
Viking Rod and Reel Repair in the brainerd area just off 371 by gull lake does a good job. I've taken many abu garcia reels to him.
harvey lee
I send all my Abu reels into Abu and they are more than fair ir fixing anything wrong with them. The turn around time is also very good.

Tonka Boy
Sorry, but I disagree with Ralph. Abu has been top notch for me! I fact I just sent 2 reels in via ground and still got them back in 3 business days. Not sure if Wayzata bait is still open but their reel repair takes FOREVER!! Never tried Trails End but it's been recommended to me.
art321
Had to laugh when I said Trails End was too far and then you guys tell me Brainerd?????? Then I realized you were talking shipping, weren't you?????? If that is the case I'll just ship to Shimano. They may still have parts for the 20+ year old gal. I'm going to peel it apart myself just to see if something obvious stands out but I've long since lost the the parts blowout so wouldn't want to go to deep without a roadmap. Thanks for your responses.

JohnMickish
Go to Shimanos HSOforum, it tells you what reels they still repair and which ones they don't. They also have parts breakdowns. I believe the cost is $20 to have Shimano go thru it.
