Suggestions on a heater?

Recommended Posts

Just bought a 7x14 wheelhouse. There wasn't a heater with it so I'm looking for some suggestions on what type and size to go with. I've been heathing it with a sunflower so far and it does a good job, should I just stick with that? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The sunflower will give off carbon monoxide so make sure to have good ventilation & co detector if you go that route. Empire, along with some others make nice wall mount units that can be vented directly outside. Forced air is a great alternative as well if you don't mind lugging batteries around. You'll get a lot of input here.

Fleet Farm has a good vented propane wall heater for a fair price. I think there empire brand. Check out fish house supply dot com for some nice heaters. I have used a unvented wall heater that you see at most hardware stores for $100. They produce alot of moisture and you have to be careful about carbon monixide since its unvented. But with any heater, I would suggest getting a CO alarm too.

Moisture from the un-vented heater will cause lots of issues especially if it is one of the less expensive manufactured houses that use the manufactured wood. Go with an vented unit to eliminate that problem and to also not have to worry so much about the CO issue. You still should have a CO detector in the house especially if you plan to sleep in it.
