Norsky
I know I have a 6 month warranty with this machine, but it is worth purchasing the extended warranty? I know they have very few problems. I can get a 5 year warranty for about $900. Kind of steep to me, but maybe worth it??? Oh, and yes, it is a sweet ride, just breaking it in now, much more powerful than my Honda Fourtrax which I'll probably sell now. I'm already impressed with the fuel injected engine, push button 4x4, locking front diff, etc. Anyway, what do you think about the extended warranty? Roofer
On a Griz, I would skip it. Spend it on wheels and tires. That is what the Griz really needs.
Dozer
I would agree with Roofer.
jltimm
I'll third the skip it. I purchased an extended 3 year warranty for my Suzuki for around $300 dollars. never had to use it though as the Kingquad has been tough as nails so far. landscaper
thats a nice ride you got there!! what color?oh ya....i would skip it and use the $$ for some tires or winch
JeffB
I skip the extended warrany on everything. They try to sell the warranty for one reason and thats to make more money. good luck sounds like a great ride!
Norsky
Got the green one, near cost minus $700 from Yamaha, now is an incredible time to buy an 08. I was going to get the 09, but saved myself nearly $3000 by buying the 08.
landscaper
if you dont mind tell...or me asking but what was the price you got it for?
Dozer
If I remember right they are on C List for $6599 with power steering and $5999 without.
Kodiak
so what did you end up paying out the door, i was thinking of getting a blue 08, i sold my outlander 800.thanks!
Norsky
5800 for the machine plus tax and license-little over 6300 total.
Dozer
5800 for the machine plus tax and license-little over 6300 total. Is that with EPS or not?
Kodiak
if that is with eps, i have to know where you got it!
Norsky
No EPS, I can't see how you'd need eps on this machine, it's very easy to steer. Maybe only if you intended on putting on tracks. EPS is just something that could go wrong.
rundrave
EPS is not just for easy steering, it also acts as a steering stabilizer to keep you from getting kick back or have the bars ripped from your hands etc
slender
EPS is a waste of money, come on, it's a 4 wheeler. Don't buy the warranty. Yamaha's are bullet proof. My 660 griz has been to [PoorWordUsage] and back.
Dave S
the people who have the EPS have said they'd never go back. It's that good.
Dozer
If you run tires like I have on my 660 it would be great to have eps. I know the next wheeler I buy will have it!
jltimm
I thought the p.s. was overkill myself to, but for big tires, ruts, and plowing with the weight of the plow on the front end it would be a great thing to have. If it's one more thing to go wrong as stated earlier, your just back to normal steering anyhow. I've heard of no failures though.
Norsky
So how big of tires and rims should I put on this machine? Any suggestions??? thanks--
Dozer
I used to run 26" mud bugs, 10" wide on the front 12" on the rear. Now I am running 27"x12" Vampires that measure the same as most 28"s all the way around. For my type of ridding I like the 28"s, for most people 26"s would be better. Also for my type of riding I like the wide tires on the front too but most people dont like it, my wife wont even ride it because she says it steers too hard. I would recomend 26" or 27"x10"s on the front and 12"s on the rear for most "normal riding"
knoppers
I run the itp 589's 27 inch with itp rims, and have been very happy with the snow traction with these. only thing I don't like are the hub covers, they have some rust on them. jltimm
Depends upon what type of riding you will be doing mostly. I'd say 26-27" tires. I've got 27" GBC Mudhogs and they have treated me excellent. Goodyear Mudrunners and Kenda Bearclaws are a good tire to.
Dave S
I had Kenda Bearclaws on my Vinson and they were great. They wore very well. Not a deep lug tire like some that are out there now, but they rode well.I currently have AMS Swamp Fox tires in stock size on my Rincon. I say they're as good as the Bearclaws with a very similar tread design with the exception the AMS tires don't have the center lug like the BC's. The Swamp Fox does come in a deeper lug version also but I didn't want to go to a 26" tire to get them.
Kodiak
stay out of the mud, ride the rocks and hills get the horns or terracross. forget mud tires they ride like a tank and are heavy.also get a radial!
