Tom Linderholm
Hello, Working on installing a 12V plug for my GPS. Putting into a 1990 Safari. My thought is that I will splice it into my handwarmer switch, unfortunately I'm not sure which wires to drop it into. I do know that Yellow is Hot, just not sure which one is Negative. Any thoughts? Yellow Hot Orange ? Orange w/ Blue Stripe ?
2thepointsetters
I only have wiring diagrams for newer ski-doos and looking at those none of the wires on the handwarmer switch are a ground. One would be hot and the other two go to the elements. There are a lot of ground wires on the diagrams I am looking at, and they all are black. Look at your kill switch and see what color the wires are that might help you figure out your common ground color. You can check with a simple voltage tester also. Or you can ground out anywhere a bolt goes into the frame.
Tom Linderholm
Thanks for the repy 2thepoint. Judging from the replies in equip forum I will likely connect straight to the battery. Thanks again!

Surface Tension
Use the accessory plugs made for marine use. They'll have the rubber cap to keep water and snow out when not in use.
