this was .051 wire. it's just as easy with .062, except the wrap is harder to keep tight. good luck. laugh

Bigfish - how bout one on installing a tally wacker prop on a wood body?

most companies get it done on a CNC machine pre-made or in house (so i'm told). the way i do it is just too dangerous to tell the truth. theres kids on this site. i'd never forgive myself if anybody lost a finger or two, let alone a kid. i sweat every time i'm making the slits.... but if i figure out an even near safe way? sure.

no problem fish. it might not be the best way though for everyone. i can do it three different ways by hand and this one is just the easiest and fastest i use. good luck building wink

on a side note... i'm still trying to find the time for a tute on tying bucktail on coils. stay tuned, huh?

Bigfish thanks much for that. I've been thinking about tying my own bucktails but I'm not sure that I have the skill to do it on my own. If you ever get any more done make sure you post them!

your welcome guys, but i'm happy to help where possible. tutorials are funny sometimes because in still pics it's tough to get most things across. i think that was easy to do here. as far as a tute on tying maraboo i tried and it just can't be done in stills any better than just saying it. i'll put a couple suggestions in that other thread. happy loopin' smile

Bigfish is the .051 wire equvilant to what lb test.

approx. 500 lbs. tensil on made for bucktails and prop types. most you can buy from a sportsmans source are this series/grade... 400'ish. annealed/soft stainless wire, series/grade is 300'ish, has less tensil but i'm not real sure how much. i assume around 300-350.
