BoxMN
Does anybody have a decent source for a nice, but not overly expensive, 36" neo angle shower enclosure? I think I am going to tile, but still need the door enclosure. Nobody carries 36" anymore, or that I can find - at least any bigger places. Menards I can order them I think ($480 for just glass portion!). Any places in north metro that might carry them? I do already have a 36" base that I bought years ago, but didn't buy the surround, and now I can only find really cheap stuff ($300 for base, doors, and surround, so I am sure it is cheap and won't take my fat arse stepping on it...) - lessen here - if you are going to buy soemthing, get the whole thing or you might not find the parts for it later on... doh...38" will not fit my small bathroom, as I already have that shower kit unpacked - will have to use in basement I guess... heh. Also, any advice about tiling shower area? I have done floors and backsplashes, and plan to use hardi backer behind tile. Thanks for thoughts or advice. Farmboy1
Go to any local glass shop. They can custom fabricate you a surround and the cost is really good. They should have the stuff on hand and have it for you in a couple days. If you have done floor tile, you can do wall tile.

BoxMN
Thanks guys, I hadn't thought of that. Would work good, and White Bear Glass is right nearby. Will give that try! Thanks!
sparcebag
I am sure it is cheap and won't take my fat arse Mortor bed for supporting base
18 inch Crappie
Buy the cheap 36" at Menards and just use the door and toss the rest. I did this and worked great. A glass place will make you a real nice one but it will cost you some $$ my new house the door for a 3x4 foot shower was a grand installed. BoxMN
Sparse, anything special for doing the mortar bed? I recall helping my Dad do this years ago, but can't recall what we used. Is there a special mix or just any old thing to support it some? Crappie, good idea. Will save $$. The one quoted from the glass company is a $700 estimate, but they really need me to have tile up beofre they can give good estimate. They guessed $1000 installed! But I just can't imagine that. I bet they were thinking bigger than what I am actually doing, though I am sure it would be very nice.... I still might go that way if wifey wants it to look nicer.
